My Mission

1. I have a vision for a new form of leadership for Borno State whereby the general public will be actively involved in policy-making and implementation.

2. To serve Borno State to the best of my abilities with the awareness that leadership is a responsibility one will untimely account for.

3. To consider peoples' opinions, tapped through widespread consultation, in the formulation and implementation of government policies.

4. To restructure and redirect the public service in order to achieve best results in our education and health sectors particularly - through staff development and motivation.

My foremost view of politics is that a leader comes to serve society and not to be served by society. I see leadership as a responsibility and not a mean for self aggrandisement and this guides my political direction.

That Government shall be responsible for the welfare of the people and the leader at the top shall accept responsibility for how the government fared.

The diversity of Borno shall be reflected in all aspects of governance.

Resources shall be regarded as scarce and used accordingly to achieve the optimum results.

People affected by government policies shall be consulted in the process of policy-making and Implementation.

Hon. Adamu Alhaji Lawan has sponsored students to study within and outside the country. Some of the students he has sponsored are now Medical doctors, pilots and engineers working in numerous places.

With the destruction of livelihoods wrought by the raging insurgency, whole communities have been displaced and Hon. Adamu Alhaji Lawan currently maintains a whole IDP camp - catering for all their needs; food, shelter, healthcare and education for the children.
